Being Memorable: Rodger Marty

At Atrium Management Company, some stories are woven into the very fabric of who we are—and Rodger Marty’s story is one of them. As the original founder of Atrium, Rodger and his wife Debbie built the company from the ground up in 2001 when it was still a small single-family residential property management firm in Lake Mary, Florida. After selling the company in 2014 and briefly retiring, Rodger found his way back—rejoining Atrium as Controller and playing a key role in our accounting and operations teams. Atrium has grown by leaps and bounds, but Rodger’s commitment to excellence remains the same.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Rodger has always embodied Midwestern grit and determination. When asked about his favorite food, he doesn’t hesitate: “Pizza—Isn’t that everyone’s?” When he’s not crunching numbers or overseeing key processes, Rodger loves cheering for the Orlando City Lions, the city’s major league soccer team, and spending time at the beach, where he can unwind.

Rodger’s travels are often guided by family ties. His two favorite places to visit are Alexandria, Virginia, and Lakenheath Air Force Base in England—both home to his beloved grandchildren. It’s clear that family, both at home and at Atrium, is central to his life.

Reflecting on his role as Controller, Rodger shares what he enjoys most: “Interacting with the team and providing assistance whenever possible.” His approachable leadership style and years of expertise have made him a key resource for team members across departments.

When asked how he embodies Atrium’s core values, Rodger offers a humble response: “I just try very hard to leave a favorable impression of Atrium when interacting with anyone for the company.” His favorite core value, “Always Do The Right Thing,” speaks volumes about his approach. “If you stick with that, everything else is much, much easier,” he says.

Rodger’s dedication to service extends beyond Atrium’s doors. He and his family have a deep appreciation for military service, as both his son and daughter-in-law serve in the Air Force. In recent years, Rodger and his family have supported several charitable organizations that focus on helping military members and their families. “We’ve seen firsthand the challenges they face, and it’s important to give back,” he shares.

Staying informed in a rapidly evolving industry is another priority for Rodger. He participates in the Controllers Council to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in accounting and finance. His proactive approach ensures that Atrium’s financial operations remain cutting-edge and efficient.

Rodger’s goals for the future are ambitious yet grounded in his signature optimism: “My personal goal is to be here when we blow past the 24,000 doors mark!” His vision aligns perfectly with Atrium’s growth trajectory, as the company continues expanding its portfolio and strengthening its services.

Rodger Marty’s journey—from founder to retiree to a vital leader in Atrium’s present and future—is a testament to his resilience, dedication, and belief in the Atrium team. We’re fortunate to have his guidance, experience, and leadership as we continue to grow and thrive.
